There are many things going on at Pacheco High School, especially coming towards the end of the year, so just be ready for more exciting stories. Here are some Pacheco High School updates.
In club news, the Associated Student Body (ASB) just approved a new club on campus, the Dance Club. They are a club with a mission to bring not just cultural dance to campus but different styles of dance, like hip-hop, alternative, contemporary and many more.
This club was created by Johnathan Licea, as he takes on the club’s presidential role, and a few other sophomores at PHS. They are super excited to show what they have to offer and hope they get many participants on campus.
The Polynesian Club was also asked to perform at San Luis’ diversity day. They got to perform three cultural dances and interact with the school. They were excited to perform and did a great job representing their club. San Luis also did a great job putting on their event. Many students and parents were on campus to show their support for the school.
One of the major things that happened recently was SAT testing. Many juniors participated in taking this year’s SAT. Some were nervous, some came prepared, and others went blind. Many students had confidence that they were doing great throughout the test. We are all hoping for the best for everyone who took the test.
Upcoming news will include our yearly kindness week. ASB has planned many activities and actions PHS students can take part in to show their kindness. They hope to spread kindness and show that it only takes one smile to make someone’s day brighter.
State testing has begun. As the end of the school year approaches, that also brings many testing dates. Juniors will be starting the CASP testing in English math and science. Some seniors will also be taking them if they missed any during their senior year. There is also Advanced Placement (AP) testing coming up, so please wish AP students luck as they prepare for testing.
Another event that happened this week was the Ag Department’s Pre-Fair. Many students who are showing an animal in this year’s May Day fair got to go and show off their animal. Many of them won in showmanship or in other different categories. Many of them also got to experience what a fair would be like and get some professional practice.
Many students got the little nerves out as they prepared their animals to go out and show what they can offer. Everybody was proud of not only themselves but their animals and can’t wait for the fair week to come.
Last but not least, a big shout out to both JV and varsity softball teams for their recent wins against Los Banos high school, varsity with a score of 3-2, and JV with a whopping score of 15-13.
More updates to come soon, type to you next time. 🙂
