The Son Rise Service, a Los Banos tradition since the mid-1960s, will be held Sunday morning, April 9, by St. John’s Lutheran Church. The community is invited to worship at O’Neill Forebay, approximately eight miles west of Los Banos
The park gates open at 6 a.m. with the service beginning at 6:30 a.m. The service is held to the left of the boat ramp. Follow the signs to the boat ramp. Some chairs are provided by St. John’s, but the public is encouraged to bring their own. People are encouraged to dress warmly.
The State Park will provide free parking passes at the entrance kiosk off Highway 152. The free passes are good only for the duration of the service. Those desiring to stay longer must purchase a day-use pass or show a valid one.
