Our beautiful loving mom Maria Alda Borba was welcomed into heaven peacefully from her home in the early morning of January 25th 2023 in Los Banos. Alda was born July 24th 1937 in Calheta Sao Jorge, Azores. There she met and married Joe Borba and began their lives. Soon, with five children in tow, they headed to the United States where they would make their home in California. Two more children later and the family was complete. Alda never shied away from family or work, her heart was large enough for everyone that she met and they knew this. Her home was always open and had a hot meal on the stove ready to share. She was always there for you, to comfort you and never short on words of praise, forever putting everyone first, this was her goal and she always reached it. Being around Alda made you want to be a better person. She loved to crochet, going to the casinos and her soaps but her family was her priority. She was happiest when her home was filled with laughter. This brought her the most joy of all. Alda’s strength was unmeasurable, she worked hard and loved even harder. Alda was preceded in death by her parents John and Maria Machado, her husband Joe Borba, her brother Joe Machado and her grandson Raymond Borba. She leaves behind her children John Borba Azores, Filomena (Rob) Lebard, Elizabeth Borba Merced Octavio (Terry) Borba Gustine, Albert Borba, Manuel (Laurie) Borba, Catherine Borba Los Banos. She also leaves behind her brothers John Machado, George (Yiling) Machado her sisters Maria Robinson, Ilda Nacimento, Mary Woltman, Tina Taylor and Virginia (Eddie) Dicochea along with 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mom, your love will always be with us and you will truly be missed by all.
