On Nov. 23, the Los Banos Tiger girls’ basketball team (1-0) routed the Livingston Wolves, 55-29. The Lady Tigers opened the first quarter outscoring the Wolves 20-5 and never looked back. Los Banos held a 30-12 at halftime and led 48-23 at the end of three periods.
The Tigers were paced by an outstanding performance by junior America Ordunez, who scored a game-high 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and recorded three steals for the Tigers in just three-quarters of play.
Velen Fajardo followed Ordunez with eight points of her own, and she hauled in 6 rebounds and added two steals. Kami Curutchague added seven points and two rebounds on her birthday. The Lady Tigers played on Nov. 28, in Merced against El Capitan high school.
