Members of Los Banos Parks and Recreation are thrilled to announce the addition of a new shade sail to Verona Park, 2200 Palermo Dr.
The shade sail, like the structure installed at Vineyard B Park in 2021, will provide shade over the picnic tables to support the playground area. Verona Park lacks significant shade, and park users will now benefit from the shelter space for picnics and park use. Verona Park will host the 2023 Arbor Day celebration on March 3, 2023.
They anticipate the installation of new playgrounds at Little Page, 600 Page Ave. and Davis Park, 254 Santa Ana St. The new Little Page Park playground is a barn theme, and the new Davis Park playground will be a ship theme.
One of the largest park projects has begun at the Community Center, 645 7th St. where the overflow parking lot is under construction. Work will include the addition of a storm drain, lighting, pathway connections to the Community Center and the Rail Trail. The parking lot will support countless events at the Community Center, including next May’s Public Works Day.
The Los Banos City Council members approved the contract for the construction of a new restroom and concession facility at the AG Sports Complex, 700 N. Mercey Springs Rd. The building will replace the current dome structure on-site and provide restrooms for the two sports fields, the playground and the dog park.
