On Sept. 15, 2022, the Pacheco Panther Frosh football team (6-2) defeated the Los Banos Tiger Frosh football team (1-4) 50-0.  The two teams met again on Thursday, Oct. 27, and the game was a lot better but not good enough for the young Tigers. Pacheco shut out Los Banos 28-0.

The two teams battled to a 0-0 tie at halftime, but in the third quarter, two interceptions by Jacob Garza turned the tide in favor of Pacheco.  Garza returned his first interception to the Tiger nine-yard line, and Eric Garza covered the nine yards in one play to score the game’s first points and a 6-0 Panther lead.

Garza returned his second interception to the Tiger 25-yard line, and then Hezekiah George connected with Ondre Cobian on a 25-yard touchdown pass.  Sanchez ran in the two-point conversion, and Pacheco held a 14-0 advantage.

Sanchez was not finished yet as he rambled 35 yards for a Panther touchdown, and when Justin Bravo ran in the two-point conversion, the Panther lead was 22-0.  Julius Sams completed the scoring for Pacheco when he scored a Panther touchdown on a 22-yard run.  Dylan Brandi blocked the PAT kick, and Pacheco was up 28-0 with 2:44 remaining in the game.

The Tiger offense could do very little against the potent Panther defense, but the Los Banos defense improved over the first meeting between the two local Freshman squads.  Los Banos had stellar play from Javier Contreras, Angel Arce, Joseph Villagrana, Alan Moran, Johnny Tevis, and Rafael Aguirre.
