Summer is nearing its end. School has started and we are settling into a normal schedule of life. As we look forward to and settle into fall, let’s remember the things that are important.
Things like, spending time with our loved ones around the dinner table, investing our time and effort into our children’s lives, passing on the values and principles that our families and our nation were founded upon, making sure our kids know about God and taking them to church.
We are the living examples in front of our children of what they one day will become or turn away from. If we want them to have a good marriage when they get married, the marriage we have with our spouse is their primary example. If we want them to have a good work ethic, then show them how.
They will face many difficult topics at far too young of an age very soon. If we want our world to change, we must begin at home, because the family unit at home is the building blocks of our nation. When we define and then instill within them the values and principles that are truly important, others will not be able to turn them away when they are older. Scripture describes this principle in Proverbs 22:6, Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. NIV
We have a limited time and opportunity to train our children in what is most important in life. Start today and make time each day to invest in their lives while can. We at Bethel Community Church are here to help. We have many ministries for the whole family that can help build healthy families. We want everyone to connect with God, experience God’s love as we love like God, and display the heart of God as we serve everyone.
We welcome everyone to our Sunday morning worship experience at 10:30am. We have many small group meetings during the week and we would love to see you this Sunday at 415 I St. May God bless you and your family.
