The summer is heating up for Los Banos Parks and Recreation activities. One of the biggest weeks of the summer is here with Movie Night in the Park on Aug. 6..

The Friday Movie Night in the Park will be hosted at College Greens Park, 1815 Scripps Dr., and will feature a viewing of Encanto. The community is invited to come out early to enjoy fun games, giveaways and the movie which will begin at dusk

The National Night Out was hosted and organized on Aug. 2 in downtown Los Banos by the Los Banos Police Department and featured music, games, and giveaways.

Many more programs and activities are already underway at the Los Banos Community Center. The first ever summer youth volleyball league has been a huge success with 12 teams comprised of children ages 7 to 14 competing. The city is registering for several new classes including: Yoga for Kids, Adult Yoga Workshops, Bonillas Basketball Class, Youth Evolution soccer and basketball classes and Fall Youth Volleyball. Fall soccer registration has entered the late registration period and filling up quick and Salute to Senior tickets are on-sale now.

Two important Parks projects are currently under the construction bid process with the AG Sports Complex restroom replacement project and the Community Center overflow parking lot. The Los Banos Public Works anticipates completing both projects this fall and aims to begin several others this summer, including the construction of pickleball courts at Cresthills Park and field improvements at AG Sports Complex.
