Hope you are enjoying these long and hot, Los Banos summer days and taking advantage of some restful and relaxing vacation time with family and friends.
We, here at New Beginnings Church, are committed to providinga safe place; physically, emotionally, and spiritually for children of all ages as we carry out our Mission Statement of “Loving God, Loving People . . . So That We can be a Place of Hope and Healing.”
As part of this commitment to being a blessing to the kids of Los Banos, we are concluding our annual week of VBS on July 29. It has been a time when kids, ages pre-k through grade 6 were challenged with the theme “Kids Can D.R.E.A.M”. What an amazing week this has been with more than 125 kids in attendance in addition to 65 volunteer staff. Every summer New Beginnings is glad, and honored, to provide this wonderful VBS experience for all kids in our community.
AWANA is coming! The 2022-2023 AWANA program here at New Beginnings will be beginning on Aug. 17. This is an exciting, fun-filled opportunity that equips kids with a biblical foundation and prepares them to be a success in faith-filled adulthood. Sign-ups and registration for this program can be accomplished by going to the New Beginnings web page – NBSChurch.com. There are also many other resources on this website as well, that you may find of help and interest.
As a result of the Covid pandemic and unfortunately having to take two years off, we are now back on target and planning for the Harvest Funfest on Oct. 31. The Harvest Funfest has come to be the biggest event in Los Banos on Halloween night. This will be a fun night for the community filled with games, candy galore. lights, food, popcorn, music, raffles – all provided in a very safe atmosphere for all “kids at heart” in Los Banos. Please join us and come and see your neighbors and friends. We plan to again have in attendance the Los Banos police department, as well as the fire department with their fire truck for kids to explore. We look forward to the opportunity to honor and thank our public safety for their continued service to Los Banos.
On another note, New Beginnings also sponsors weekly Kajukenbo classes, which is a martial arts, discipline opportunity that takes place on site, on Wednesday nights. This program enables kids to develop confidence and personal safety, as they grow into their teen years. If you are interested, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Needless to say, we are looking forward to an eventful fall and autumn season. We hope you will contact us if we can be of service to you and your family!
