Both The Pacheco Panthers and the Los Banos Tigers girls volleyball teams opened their 2022 season on Aug. 19 with wins.
The Lady Panthers traveled to Tracy to play Millennium High School and returned home with a 3-0 shutout victory. Kameryn Cortinas, Es’ence Walker, Daisy Rivera and Diamond Tuitupou were the leading hitters for Pacheco, while Abi Pikas and Cortinas led the Panthers in serving.
On Aug. 24 Pacheco hosted the Central Valley Hawks and won three of four sets to claim its second victory. The win was an all-around team effort by the Panthers.
The Los Banos High girls volleyball team traveled to Livingston for its season opener, and defeated the Wolfpack 3-1. However, on Aug. 21 Los Banos dropped all three sets in a match with the Golden Valley Cougars.
