The Los Banos Little League 12-year-old All-Star team traveled to Coarsegold and defeated the Atwater All-Stars 6 to 3.
Los Banos fell behind 1-0 in the first inning when Colton Kocher surrendered a run to Atwater. Atwater increased their lead to 3-0 when Issac Garcia was tagged for a two-run home run.
That would be the last lead the Atwater squad would enjoy.
In the top of the fifth inning, Danny Romero hit a single, Reed Thiercof drew a walk and then Colton Kocher drove them both in with a triple, and Issac Garcia scored Kocher with a single.
Garcia later scored the go-ahead fourth run on an infield out.
Los Banos then had the lead 4-3 for the first time.
Zayden Affonso Stiers was brought in to pitch in the bottom of the fifth inning and shut out the side recording two strikeouts.
Los Banos increased their lead to 6-3 in the top of the sixth inning. Danny Romero hit a single and scored on a Kellen Saucedo triple. Saucedo scored on a throwing error on his triple and the Los Banos All-Stars held 6-3 lead.
Jaxon Mancebo secured the victory for Los Banos pitching a scoreless bottom of the sixth inning with Los Banos claiming a 6-3 come from behind win.
On Sunday, July 3, the Los Banos All-Stars defeated the Mariposa County All-Stars, 10-0.
With that victory Los Banos will continue in the winners’ bracket in Coarsegold on Wednesday, July 6 at 7 p.m.
