Last week the Los Banos Tiger boys tennis team began their 2026 tennis season spitting a pair of matches on their home court.

On Feb. 23, the Tigers lost a close match to the Pitman Pride by the score of 5-4, but rebounded to shut out the Dos Palos Broncos, by the score of 9-0 on Feb. 26.

In the Pitman match, Tiger number one player Chase Fifield defeated Calvin Lin by the scores of 2-6, 6-1, and 13-11 in the super tie-breaker.  

Tyler Meza won his match against David Cisneros of the Pride by scores of 7-6 and 6-4. Drake Fifield won the third singles match for Los Banos with scores of 5-7, 7-5 and 10-7 in the tie-breaker match.

Lucas Sharbrough and Max Menefee claimed the only doubles match for Los Banos, defeating Owen Alberti and Shim Singh, by scores of 6-4 and 7-5.

Against Dos Palos, it was all Los Banos, as Chase Fifield defeated Anthony Lish (6-1, 6-3), Nelson Fabian handed Ismeal Lopez losses (6-4, 6-1), Gracien Indart beat Gio Martinez (6-0, 6-0), Brody Benton claimed (6-3, 6-0) wins over Uriel Medina, Tyler Meza (6-0, 6-0) shut-out Chase McGlaughlin and Drake Fifield completed the singles match wins defeating Izaiah Reyes (6-1, 6-4).

The Tigers swept all three doubles matches, as well, with Xzavien Orduno and Lucus Sharbrough, Garrett Lemos and Ian Villavaso, and Zaevin Cancino and Max Menefee all winning their matches.

The Tiger tennis season was to have continued this past Monday in Atwater against the Buhach Colony Thunder, and then on Tuesday at home.
