On March 27 the Pacheco Panther baseball wasted an excellent overall pitching and hitting performance by Aiden Pikas (6 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 8 K’s, 3 for 4 H with 2 3B, 1 R, 1 RBI) giving up six runs in the seventh inning and dropped an 8-6 decision to the Ceres Bulldogs.
Pacheco took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, using walks to John Shryock, Damien Romero and Sam Honesto to load the bases and a Bulldog error to plate two runs.
Pacheco added three more runs in third innings, using a Pikas triple and RBI’s by Mario Rivera and Thomas Price to score three times to take a 5-0 lead.
A Jacob Sanchez base hit in the fourth inning led to a sixth run for Pacheco and a commanding 6-2 lead going into the final frame.
Unfortunately, Ceres overcame the deficit, scoring six times in the top of seventh inning to steal the victory away from the Panthers.
