On March 29 Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria hosted the 2025 Women Leading the Way Awards at the Madera Municipal Golf Course.

During the 11th annual ceremony, Soria recognized a distinguished group of women from across the district who were selected for their outstanding leadership, service and contributions to the community.

One such individual is Christina Martinez, Program Manager at Merced County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS).

Martinez’ relentless commitment to mental health and recovery services has made a profound impact in Los Banos.

The award ceremony was a gathering of supporters and community members, all expressing their admiration for Martinez and the other honorees.

Her relentless efforts to raise awareness about critical mental health issues have not only transformed many lives but have also inspired others in the field, including her MSW Intern at BHRS, Amy Bonillas.

As Martinez accepted her award, the audience celebrated her dedication and the positive changes she has orchestrated within the community.

This recognition highlights the crucial role that women hold in leadership positions and their power to drive meaningful progress across various sectors.
