The Dos Palos Bronco varsity baseball squad played a close and entertaining game against the Atwater Falcons last Saturday in Dos Palos. The Falcons were able to pull out the victory in 10 innings, 3-1. Dos Palos’ only run came by way of a solo home run by Chaz Merrell.  Before the game, Dos Palos held a ceremony honoring the late Bryan Van Worth, a Bronco alum who passed away last September. Van Worth played football and wrestled at DPHS and then spent six years as a Central Section high school baseball umpire. His son Matthew is a sophomore first baseman who plays for the Falcons. This Friday, Dos Palos will continue its season when they travel to Kerman to take on the Lions.
