GIRLS SOCCER:

Varsity girls soccer got off to a competitive start to the 2024-2025 season going 2-2-1 in the first five games.  However the team found the league portion of the season much more difficult, failing to pick up a win.  The team featured 5 seniors led by captain Lizbeth Garcia and Jayden Larkins.  The team will hope to build behind returning players Jazmin Guardado, Elizabeth Perkins and Ayvah Chapman.  Freshman goalie Abigail Melo gained valuable experience in the net as well.   With a JV team that earned a couple of league wins and two ties, the future looks to be competitive.

BOYS BASKETBALL:

Five seniors recently completed their basketball careers at Pacheco High on February 14th in a loss to Livingston.  Under the leadership of Nathaniel Tellez and Niko Lomeli the team captured one league win, upsetting Lathrop High on January 29th.  Freshman Noah Lomeli and junior Siaosi Vai were key parts of the lineup that will look to be key contributors next season.

At the underclass level the JV team was also able to only earn one league win,  in the season finale against Livingston.  However the freshman team proved to be the bright point of the program winning the league title with a 13-1 record.

WRESTLING:

Both varsity boys and girls teams found league competition to be tough as the boys finished league 0-7 in duals while the girls went 4-3.   Despite the tough results in team competitions there was individual success at the league finals and recently in divisionals.   In boys wrestling Dominick Hurst was able to capture a WAC title while Alessandro Hurst and Xavier Flores finished second.  The girls featured two champions in Alexandra Loretto and Melaya Soto.  Also moving on to divisionals were Paola Martinez, Jayna Arrocena, Dakota Butler and Athena Castillo.  Recently at Divisionals six athletes punched their tickets to Masters.  On the boys side it was Xavier Flores while the girls saw Loretto, Soto, Arrocena, Castillo and Butler advance.

BOYS SOCCER:

Fresh off of a section final appearance in 2024 the boys had hopes of defending their WAC title as well.  Newcomer Central Valley dethroned the Panthers but the team still reached the postseason for the eighth time in the last ten seasons.  Leading scorer Samuel Pinal and strong defensive play led by Arturo Garcia in the goal have given the team hopes of another strong playoff run starting Wednesday when the team hosts Christian Brothers.   With a JV team that finished 8-2-3 in league the future continues to look bright for the Panther boys soccer program.

GIRLS BASKETBALL:

It was a historic season for the girls basketball program as the varsity team not only earned their first trip to the playoffs but eclipsed the school record for wins (21) and were the WAC champions for the first time as well.  Leading scorers senior Sasha Siemiller and freshman Mary Tava highlighted a talented group that finished 12-2 in league play.  The team will host the schools first ever basketball playoff game Tuesday when Fairfield comes to the Brett Lee Gym.  Behind the varsity teams success the JV team found themselves in the hunt for a league title as well finishing 11-3.  A strong showing by the freshman team finishing 9-5 have the girls program believing success could continue for the next few years.
