The following results are preliminary and will change as the counties processes ballots. As of 8:30 a.m. on Nov 6 all ballots currently processed are mail-in, early voting, and Election Day ballots. Conditional/Provisional ballots have not yet been released.
Los Banos mayor’s race is currently led by former Los Banos Mayor Micheal Amabile with 2,420 votes (43.71%). Amabile is followed by Refugio Llamas with 1,901 ballots (34.33%). Current Los Banos Mayor Paul Llanez sits at 1,179 ballots (21.29%). The total number of votes counted is 5,537.
For Los Banos Council District 1, incumbent Kenneth Lambert currently has 537 votes (48.51%). His challenger Tommy Leyva leads with 561 votes (50.68%).
For Los Banos Council District 4, incumbent Deborah Lewis has 52.91% of the vote, or 727 individual voters. Her challenger Travis Loebig has 642 voters (46.72%).
The recall of Los Banos Councilmember Doug Begonia Jr., in District 2, is currently succeeding with 81.04% of the vote, or 1,154 voters. The vote against rests at 270 votes (18.96%).
The recall of Los Banos Councilmember Brett Jones, in District 3, is currently succeeding with 1,082 voters(72.13%). The vote against rests at 418 votes (27.87%).
The Los Banos Unified School District, Area 4, currently has Luis Castro leading with 422 votes (67.09%). The Incumbent Gary E Munoz currently has 204 votes (32.43%).
Measure P is currently succeeding with 5,182 votes (73.86%). 1,834 votes are against (26.14%).
Measure R is currently succeeding with 19,888 votes (58.31%) with 14,218 votes against (41.69%).
In the Dos Palos-Oro Loma Joint Unified School District Area 4, Lisa Areias leads with 124 votes. Jasmin Goncalves has 90 votes. In Area 6 District, Frank Lemos leads with 157 votes. Michael Bryant has 95 votes.
In the city of Firebaugh city council election, four candidates are running for three seats. Currently, Elsa Lopez has 580 votes, followed by Aldred Valdez with 541 and Brady Jenkins Jr., with 361 votes. The certified write-in candidate, Veronica Navarro has 109 votes.
Firebaugh voters were asked if they wanted the city clerk and city treasurer to be appointed rather than elected. In the city clerk race 549 votes yes and 425 voted no. For the city treasurer, 541 votes yes and 395 voted no. In order for both to pass they must be 50 percent plus 1 vote).
Measure F in Firebaugh is passing 706 (66.23%) yes votes to 360 (33.77%) no votes. The measure is a Firebaugh-Las Deltas Unified School District School Bond. The measure requires 55 percent to pass.
For the Firebaugh-Las Deltas school board races in area Number 2, Maribel Muños is leading with 153 votes. Deanne Crockett has 126 vote. In the Number 3 area Robert Aguayo leads with 141 votes. Abel Serrano has 96 votes.
