As Election Day on Nov. 5 approaches, much attention has been given to contested elections involving Los Banos City Council and the Los Banos Mayor candidates.

There will be several other contested offices, however, on the ballots of Westside voters, all involving school board governing board positions.

Area 4 of the Los Banos Unified School District will have Luis Castro running against incumbent Gary Munoz.

In the Dos Palos-Oro Loma Joint Unified School District, Area 4 will have Jasmin Goncalves running against incumbent Lisa Areias, while Michael Bryant and Frank Lemos square off in Area 6.

In the Firebaugh-Las Deltas Unified School District, in Area 2 Maribel Munoz will be running against incumbent Deanne Crockett, while Area 5 will see Robert Aguayo facing incumbent Able Serrano.

Coverage of these elections will be forthcoming in future issues of The Westside Express.

Also on the ballot will be city council positions for Dos Palos and Firebaugh, but those involve incumbents running uncontested.
