A month-long investigation by the Firebaugh Police Department led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of Illegal drugs and money.
According to Firebaugh Police chief Sal Raygoza, the first incident took place in town on June 26th. Officers executed a search warrant at the 600 block of “P” Street. They uncovered a cache of illegal drugs including methamphetamine and cannabis, as well as drug paraphernalia.
“There was also evidence of fraudulent activities and proof of drug trafficking,” said Chief Raygoza.
The primary suspect was identified as 49-year-old Audie Fonseca. He was taken into custody on July 7th and charged with numerous drug related violations.
A month later on July 26th, Firebaugh police officers were joined by Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies in the execution of another search warrant. Officers went to a house on the 1800 block of San Diego just outside of the Mendota city limits.
“This operation targeted the illegal activities of drug sales to local street level dealers in Firebaugh,” Raygoza explained.
The search yielded a significant amount of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and cash.
“There was plenty of evidence of drug distribution,” the chief added.
Taken into custody was and booked on felony drug charges was 40-year-old Juan Galvan.
“The Firebaugh Police Department is committed to keeping our city drug free, crime free, and safe for all residents. Even if we have to extend our reach beyond our city limits, we will pursue individuals involved in drug activities and criminal behavior,” Raygoza added. “We will continue to work diligently to safeguard the community and we welcome any information from the public that can assist in these efforts.”
