Los Banos High School’s graduation ceremony took place at the LBHS stadium on June 5, with many speeches and, of course, the graduates receiving their diplomas.

To start the night, as the seniors walked, the LBHS band played “Pomp and Circumstance,” followed by the high school’s choir singing the national anthem and the class of 2026 officers reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Principal Jason Waltman then gave his welcome address and introductions to officially start the ceremony and bring up the salutatorian.

The LBHS salutatorian of the class of 2026 was Taetum Cardenas, and after she finished her speech, she introduced the valedictorian, her own sister, Jayda Cardenas. The senior class president, Samantha Carter, gave a speech afterward.

Next, Kelly Todd honored the California Scholarship Federation members and congratulated them on their hard work and academic achievement. Mikell Benton presented citizenship awards to Samantha Pantoja and Johnny Escobar for their strong and distinguished characters.

Then, Angelina Borelli was accepted into the United States Air Force Academy by a United States Air Force representative, none other than her own brother and soon-to-be officer, Larry Borelli.

Finally, the superintendent’s proclamation was given by Eric Sowersby, preceded by the presentation of diplomas to each graduate by Los Banos Unified School District Board Members Luis Castro, Dayna Valadao and Jessica Moran. To wrap up the night, Pantoja gave a farewell, and the senior class officers directed the tassel turn. And with that, the seniors of LBHS officially graduated.
