Dear Editor,

Los Banos Mayor Mike Amabile’s State of the City on April 14 was not only well attended, but also very inclusive by having department managers and councilmembers participate in the presentation.

Amabile demonstrated and showcased that he has talented professionals working as a team to serve all Los Banos residents.

There is absolutely no question that Amabile is keeping his campaign promise of full fiscal transparency on city finances, Measure V and H expenditures.

Our city has gone through some very tumultuous times, not only from the previous administration, but also from a prior administration that neglected our infrastructure.

We should be thankful to Greg Hostetler who invested heavily to help us “Get Back On Track”.  Amabile, made it clear that that Los Banos is looking forward and putting the past behinds us.

Hopefully, the city plans to disseminate the presentation to all residents, perhaps through social media. The public needs to know the plans on the Pioneer bypass, road repairs, additional parks including an aquatic park with a community swimming pool and homeless development.  The Los Banos Police Department and Los Banos Fire Department clearly demonstrated that crime and fire statistics have remarkably improved.

Congratulations are in order for “Team Los Banos” at city hall and departments. — Baldo Salcido, Los Banos
