On Oct. 18 the Pacheco Panther varsity football team won their first WAC conference game of the year with a 40-0 whitewash over the visiting Beyer Patriots.
The Panthers limited the Patriots to just 91 yards of offense, with their defense causing big stops and creating turnovers.
Joseph Franco led the excellent defensive effort as he returned a “pick six” interception for a 20-yard touchdown. Robert Crawford (4 tackles, 2 QB sacks, forced fumble), Siaosi Vai (4 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries), Isaac Valencia (7 tackles) assisted in the shutout victory.
On offense, the Panthers were in high gear behind Aiden Pikas (17 carries, 89 yards, TD), Brennan Watkins (8 carries, 57 yards, TD), Lawrence Vultao (TD and Peyton Mosely (60-yard TD reception). Rafeal Vargas added 10 points with two field goals and four PAT’s.
