On  Aug. 23 The Dos Palos football team hosted its annual football game against the Los Banos Tigers. The spirit was there and so was the energy. The entire week the high school had a dress-up week leading to the game.

Starting on Aug. 19, the first day’s theme was “Lasso Up the Tigers,” followed by “Rest in Peace Tigers.” On Aug. 21, the theme was “Cage Them Up, Wear Your Stripes.”

Aug. 22, being “Hunt the Tigers Down,” was represented by camo day, and on the day of the game, Aug. 23, students celebrated spirit day, showing up to school representing pride and rocking out their blue and gold.

The spirit was there throughout the game and ended the day with a rally, not only to get the team members going, but to get the students excited for the big game. The rally consisted of games and introducing players from the football team.

There was a special appearance from Bucky the Bronco, Dos Palos High School’s mascot, whose duty was rallying and hyping the crowd up.

The big game held by Dos Palos had a theme among the student section to keep the energy up. “Shine Bright like a Bronco” was the theme for the student section. Students really showed their pride by wearing sparkly skirts, gold shorts, blinged-out shirts and glittery hair, all cheering the team on to their victory.

The game was a success for the Dos Palos Broncos. They won at home 30-7. Finishing the game with spirit, there was a dance to celebrate their win and to continue the good vibes. The night left the students full of laughter and joy.
