On July 25, Pastor John Bell cuts the Los Banos Chamber of Commerce ribbon marking the official opening of the Holy Fire Ministries as the newest chamber member.

Bell’s wife, Sonia, stands by his side, holding their 20-month-old daughter, Kaydence. Their 12-year-old daughter, Harmony, stands on his other side.

Chamber directors and members gathered for the noon ribbon cutting and the church’s grand opening at 1250 Overland Ave. near the corner of Mercey Springs Road.

Bell lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana, for 14 years before coming to Los Banos. He and his wife are licensed vocational nurses and work in the area.

On Saturdays, their church service begins at 4 p.m., and they have  Bible study every Monday at 5 p.m.

Bell said the Lord spoke to him and said Saturday would be the day of his service, and the church’s name, with no specific denomination, would be Holy Fire Ministries.

Currently, there are about 40 people who attend the church weekly, and Bell said everyone is invited.

Pastor John Bell can be reached at 209-270-0501. Visit the church’s Facebook page at Holy Fire Ministries.

Those who attended the grand opening sign the chamber ribbon following the ceremony.
