John Anthony Amabile III, age 77, peacefully passed away on May 25, 2023, in Los Banos. He was born on January 5, 1946, in his beloved hometown of Los Banos. John’s life revolved around his family, and he exemplified unwavering devotion as a son, husband, father, and grandfather.
A man of diverse passions, John found immense joy in the pursuits of fishing, hunting, and cooking. Engaging in these activities allowed him to create enduring memories with his loved ones, weaving a tapestry of cherished moments.
During his formative years, John attended local schools, served in the National Guard, and played an active role in his family’s business ventures. His contributions spanned farming, ranching, a cantaloupe packing operation, and Espana’s Restaurant. Following in his father’s footsteps, John played a vital role in each endeavor, infusing them with his guidance and unwavering work ethic, which significantly contributed to their resounding success.
John’s character and values were indubitably shaped by his parents, John and Esther Amabile, who preceded him in death, along with his grandson Ty Cascia. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, and their children Jacquie (Michael), Jennifer (Troy), Amanda (Seoul), John IV (Marisa), Collin, Caitlin, and Melanie. Furthermore, his legacy lives on through his 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
John Anthony Amabile III will forever be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his profound love for the great outdoors. Though his absence leaves a void, the memory of his presence will forever reside in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate John’s life will be held on June 14th at 11 am at the Whitehurst Funeral Chapel.
