The Los Banos Tigers (18-3 overall, 9-1 WAC) rebounded from their only conference loss, last Friday to the Lathrop Spartans, to complete a three-game sweep this week.

On Monday, the Tigers defeated the Beyer Patriots 44-39. Kayson Welch led the Los Banos offense with 17 points, followed by Yahir Zuniga and Angel Resendez with eight points each. Caleb Robertson and Ayden Barcellos each grabbed eight rebounds to pace the Tiger defense.

On Wednesday, the Tigers claimed a 59-45 victory over the Grace Davis Spartans as Welch (14 points, seven rebounds), Robertson (10 points, 10 rebounds), and Zuniga (9 points, nine rebounds) led Los Banos to victory.

Finally, on “Homecoming Night” Friday, the Tigers defeated the Johnsen Vikings 63-35. Welch once again led the offense with 19 points, followed by Zuniga with 11, and Robertson added 8 points for the locals. Los Banos had a big night scoring, as nine different Tigers (Barcellos, Resendez, Anthony Michael, Tanner Walton, Nathaniel Lindbloom) and “Homecoming King” George Garcia contributed to the 69-point total.

After the game, Garcia told “The Express,” “We beat this team pretty badly in Modesto, so we were very confident of another win tonight.  As for being selected Homecoming King, I was pretty sure we were going to win that also”.
