On Oct. 31 the City of Dos Palos came together for some all-day Halloween fun.

Festivities started in the morning with elementary students participating in the annual Halloween Parade where the students walked through town showing off their Halloween costumes and spirit.  They were accompanied by their family and Dos Palos High School Band and Cheerleaders.  Students returned to school and continued their Halloween festivities with their classmates.

The fun continued in the evening with the Dos Palos First Annual Community Halloween Carnival hosted by the Dos Palos Toy Drive Group and El Tarasco Bravo Restaurant on Center Ave.  The event was a great addition to the small but big-hearted community of Dos Palos.

Community members hosted free games and gave out lots of candy to everyone.  Additional activities included a bounce house for the little ones to enjoy, a haunted house maze and great music.  No carnival can go without lots of food/drinks, so there were mini-pancakes with unlimited toppings, pupusas, tamales, tacos, aguas frescas and much more.

On Center Ave. just on the other side of Almond St. was the Fifth Annual Dos Palos Trunk or Treat hosted by Megan Bryant and Shelley Wright.  More than 15 Families decorated their trunks with all sorts of Halloween decorations and handed out candy and treats to all those with a sweet tooth.  It is always great to see everyone unleash their creativity and put smiles on everyone’s faces.

The Halloween events in Dos Palos brought the community together in a safe environment where families could enjoy the day and where community members can continue to build positive relationships with each other as the small city continues to grow.

Thanks go to the Dos Palos Police Department, the City of Dos Palos, Dos Palos Oro Loma JUSD, community members and everyone involved for all of their support.
