The Los Banos Unified School District is moving forward with three construction projects—at Pacheco High School, Loftin Stadium and Henry Miller Elementary School.

According to district superintendent Mark Marshall, construction is underway on the science wing at Pacheco High School. The completed project, Marshall said, will relieve overcrowding issues at that site, adding additional room for nearly 300 students.

Another project, which Marshall called “highly anticipated,” includes the multi-phase design and construction improvements at Loftin Stadium.

The first phase at Loftin consists of new concessions, restroom and athletic team buildings. The second phase will focus on an all-weather track and artificial turf. Later improvements will be made to the lighting and sound system.

The focus for 2022-2023 will be on Phase 1–the new concessions, restroom and athletic team buildings. The designs for Phase I, Marshall said, have been submitted to and approved by the Division of the State Architect. Bidding for the project and the subsequent construction will be starting soon.

Finally, the construction of a parking lot at Henry Miller School, described by Marshall as “much needed,” will progress on the same timetable as the Loftin Stadium project.
