Bethel Community Church got busy during COVID-19

By PASTOR STEPHEN HAMMOND

The past two years have been challenging in many different ways. Pastors all over the world were faced with circumstances that we were never taught to face.

When the shutdown happened, we at Bethel Community Church in Los Banos got busy. Although we shut down our in-person Sunday services for a couple of months, we never shut down our food pantry. In fact, we increased our services by delivering to seniors. We continued to have two food distributions per week throughout the pandemic.

We also began to remodel our church facilities. We painted inside and out. We laid new carpet and new flooring throughout. We upgraded our sound system, our video equipment and lighting. We have updated our vision statement. Bethel exists to Connect to God, Love Like God and Serve Everyone.

After shutting down our in-person Sunday services from the middle of March until May 31, 2020, we reopened with safety precautions in place. To our knowledge we have not had one transmission of Covid at our facilities.

God has blessed us abundantly during this time and our church is experiencing a season of growth. We also hired a new Youth Pastor team, Henry J. and Hannah Flores. They have made an immediate impact in Bethel Youth and our social media.

God has assembled an amazing team at Bethel that embraces growth and change. We are ever improving ourselves and our ministry to reach more people with the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We invite everyone looking for a church to join us in worship on Sunday Mornings at 10:30 a.m., in person at 415 I Street or on our livestream on Facebook at Bethel Comm Church or see our services later on YouTube at Bethel Community Church.  You can also visit our website at www.bethelcommunitychurch.net.

We have many small group ministries throughout the week to get involved with. We would love to see each of you at Bethel as we all connect with God, as we love each other like God loves us, and as we endeavor to serve everyone. May God bless you.
